Dali Taxi Privacy Notice

When you use Dali Taxi, you trust Saudi Information Technology LLC with your personal data. This notice explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It covers the rider app, the driver app, this website, and the support tools we use to run the service in Jordan.

Saudi Information Technology LLC

I. Overview

This notice applies when you use Dali Taxi to request a ride, to drive, or to visit our public website. Dali Taxi is operated by Saudi Information Technology LLC. The service is a cash ride-hailing network in Jordan: riders pay the driver in the car, in Jordanian dinar.

It applies if you are a rider (you book with Yala), a driver (you go online and take nearby trips), or a visitor to this website. It does not cover third-party maps, stores, or WhatsApp except to the extent they process data for us as described below.

Our practices follow applicable law in Jordan and in any other place from which you access the service. If you travel, some processing described here may differ from the rules in your home country.

II. Data we collect

We collect data you give us, data created when you use the apps, and limited data from other sources needed to run the service.

  • Account data: mobile phone number, one-time passcode, name, and optional profile photo. Drivers also provide Arabic name fields, date of birth, gender, address, city, alternative phone, and an emergency contact.
  • Identity and vehicle papers (drivers): driving licence number and expiry, national ID, vehicle licence, profile photo, and other documents you upload so we can review and approve your account. Cars must be model year 2018 or newer. Yellow taxis and private cars are both allowed.
  • Location: approximate and, when you allow it, precise GPS. Riders use this for pickup. Drivers share location while online and during a trip so we can match nearby offers, show the car on the map, unlock Arrived near the pin, and run the trip meter when there is no drop-off.
  • Trip and order data: pickup and drop-off pins or addresses, Now or Later time, quoted and final cash fare, waiting time, cancel reason, promo code, compliments, and whether the trip used an estimate or the taxi meter.
  • Wallet data: the in-app rider wallet is for cancel fees, extra waiting, and compliments — not for paying the trip fare. Drivers have a prepaid company account from which commission (from 10%) and some penalties are taken. Trip cash stays in the car.
  • Ratings and feedback: after a completed trip the rider must rate the driver before booking again. Drivers also receive ratings. We store the score and any report you send.
  • Safety and support: SOS on an active trip (ride id and live location sent to support), Help tickets, lost-item reports, inbox messages, and any screenshots or text you attach.
  • Device and usage: app version, language (Arabic or English), crash and error logs, and basic device identifiers needed to keep you signed in and send trip updates.
  • Website: pages you visit on this marketing site, language preference, and standard server logs.
  • Other sources: WhatsApp delivery status for OTP, map and place search results from our mapping providers, and information you or another user give support during a dispute or lost-item case.

III. How we use data

We use personal data only to run Dali Taxi: to create accounts, match riders and drivers, show maps and estimates, collect cash fares correctly, keep people safe, and improve the product.

  • Create and update rider and driver accounts, including driver approval by our admin team.
  • Send OTP codes, keep you signed in, and show your profile, trips, wallet, and notifications.
  • Set pickup from GPS or a pin, search places, draw a route, and show an approximate fare before you tap Request Dali.
  • Match a nearby request to drivers (green card first, then yellow card with an ETA bid), show the driver on the rider map, and unlock Arrived when the driver is close to the pin.
  • Calculate estimates, waiting, cancel fees, promo discounts, and company commission. Fares are approximate unless the taxi meter is used.
  • Process the driver company account so commission and some penalties can be deducted while trip cash stays with the driver.
  • Send trip status, support replies, and product messages. We do not sell your phone number for third-party marketing texts.
  • Handle SOS, tickets, lost items, and safety reports so support can see the ride and location.
  • Detect fraud, fake ETAs, repeat cancel abuse, and account misuse, and enforce our rules.
  • Fix bugs, measure reliability, and train internal tools. We do not use your trips to build advertising audiences for other companies.

IV. Matching, pricing, and safety

Matching. When you request Dali, we look for nearby drivers. A close request is first exclusive as a green card. If it is passed, it becomes a yellow card and other drivers can bid a real arrival time. We use pickup location, driver location, vehicle type, and recent ratings or incidents so the trip can start safely.

Pricing. If you add a drop-off we show an approximate cash fare. Traffic, a different route, waiting after Arrived, or changing drop-off can change what you pay. If you skip drop-off, the taxi meter runs after the trip starts. Promo codes apply on the fare screen. Commission starts at 10% for yellow taxis and private cars.

Safety and fraud. We use location and trip state to lock Arrived until the driver is near the pin, to flag unsafe or fake ETAs, and to alert support when someone taps SOS. Support may review the ride, GPS, and ticket history.

V. Cookies and similar tools

This website stores a language cookie so we can show English or Arabic. The apps store a signed-in session on your device. Mapping SDKs may set their own identifiers so tiles and search work.

We do not run third-party advertising cookies on this site. If we add analytics later, we will update this notice.

VI. Sharing and disclosure

We share data when it is needed to complete a trip, when you ask us to, or when the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.

  • The assigned driver sees pickup, drop-off if set, first name or display name, and what they need to complete the cash trip.
  • The rider sees the driver’s name, vehicle, rating, and live location during the trip.
  • Saudi Information Technology LLC staff and support see accounts, rides, SOS, tickets, and documents as needed to operate and moderate the network.
  • Service providers that process data for us: Bird WhatsApp for OTP, cloud hosting, and map or place providers (including Google and Mapbox) so search and routing work.
  • Authorities, insurers, or courts when required by Jordanian law or a valid legal request, or to protect someone’s safety.
  • A buyer of the business, if we ever transfer the company, under the same kinds of protections described here.

VII. Retention and deletion

We keep account and trip records for as long as you have an account and as long as we need them for safety, disputes, taxes, or the law in Jordan. Driver documents stay while the account is pending, approved, or under review.

You can ask us to delete your account through in-app Help or the website Help page. We then delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except what we must keep for an open claim, unpaid company-account balance, a safety ban, or a legal duty. We typically finish routine deletion within 90 days of a valid request.

VIII. Your choices

You can edit your name and profile in the app. You can turn off precise location in the phone settings, though booking and driving will be harder without it. You can control notification permission on the device.

You can request a copy of your data, a correction, a restriction, or deletion by opening a Help ticket and choosing a privacy request, or by writing to Saudi Information Technology LLC using the contact on this site’s Help page.

You can rate a completed trip, report a lost item, or send SOS on an active ride. Those actions create records we use only for that purpose.
